This is a problem-solving role where keeping clients happy and properties maintained is the goal. You need to be able to work in a team under high pressure, but also thrive when left on your own to navigate new challenges. You’ll work closely with Operations, Guest Experience and Property Management to make sure all facets of the property are looked after.
What you’ll be doing:
Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and potential repairs
Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, and painting, to ensure the properties are in optimal condition
Coordinate with external contractors or vendors for specialized repairs
Communicate effectively with Property Managers and guests, providing updates on maintenance progress, scheduling repairs, and addressing any concerns or questions
Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities using the provided platforms
Monitor and maintain the inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs
Ensure health and safety policies are complied with
The ideal person for this job:
Based in Ballito, Durban
Proven experience in property maintenance or another tradesman role
Solid understanding and working knowledge of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
Excellent communication (English) and interpersonal skills
Outstanding organizational, time-management and leadership abilities
High school diploma
